Introducing Yoda Zip, Jr.

When Zip died, Cole didn't waste any time mourning the loss of his pet, because he knew he could get another fish. He even had a name picked out for it: Zip, Jr.

So a couple of days after laying Zip to rest, Cole went to Petco and picked out his new companion. He's a feisty little guy, a bit smaller than the other betta fish. Because of his size, Cole decided to name him after a certain little Jedi master, but also wanted to honor his predecessor. Hence, Yoda Zip, Jr.

Cole was also very particular about what should be in Yoda Zip, Jr.'s tank. I had to throw out the fake plant that was in the tank before, since Zip was pretty ripe by the time we took him out. Cole didn't care about a plant, though - he wanted a tiki statue for the tank. We told him that betta fish need a place to hide to feel safe, so he reluctantly agreed to put a plant in the tank if he could still have a tiki. And the little plastic rock that was in the tank before.

It took Yoda Zip, Jr. a couple of days to get used to his new home, next to Beatty on Aidan's and Cole's book shelf. In any case, it's got to be better than the digs he had at Petco.

Welcome, Yoda Zip, Jr.!
